Merger of Vermont Colleges Proposed

A merger has been proposed between Johnson State College and Lyndon State College in Vermont. The combination of the two colleges entails institutions with enrollments between 1,000 and 1,500 students and aims for administrative savings. The merger is slated to become official on July 1, 2017.

Merger of Darton State College and Albany State University to be Finalized

A merger process is advancing in Georgia between Darton State College and Albany State University, with a finalization target date of January 2017. The administrations of the two institutions are working to combine personnel and various administrative functions in preparation for the combination. Post-merger, ASU President Art Dunning said that ASU will retain its HBCU status and many of the current two-year degree programs at Darton will continue.
